1st Annual Grandkids Night at The Holmstad

The Holmstad retirement community welcomes families for an evening of fun

It sounded and looked like a kids’ party during the 1st Annual Grandkids Night at The Holmstad retirement community. “The whole experience was music to our ears,” said Resident Services Director Cathy Reese. “Bringing together families and creating memories is part of what makes The Holmstad such a special place to call home.”

Grandkids and grandparents decorated cupcakes, finger painted, and played old-fashioned board games like Hungry, Hungry Hippo. A magician and red-nosed clown entertained the young ones and people of all ages dressed in silly costumes and posed for photos.

The Holmstad, a faith-based, not-for-profit continuing care retirement community, is located at 700 W. Fabyan Parkway, Batavia, Ill. It is administered by Covenant Retirement Communities, one of the nation’s largest not-for-profit senior services providers. Covenant Retirement Communities serves 5,000 residents at 15 retirement communities nationwide and is a ministry of the Evangelical Covenant Church.
