2 Batavia Businesses Targeted Amid Nationwide Bomb Threats
Police believe the threats were part of a nationwide phishing attempt.

BATAVIA, IL --- Two Batavia businesses were among the several organizations throughout the U.S. that received bomb threats Thursday afternoon. Police say the businesses, Aubrey Sign Company and World Source, received the threats via email just after 1 p.m.
In a press release, city officials said no bombs were found at either location. They believe the bomb threats were part of a phishing campaign in which the sender sought "payment in the form of Bitcoins."
Police say they do not have reports of any other similar threats in the city, but will update residents accordingly.
