2 People Killed In Fabyan Parkway Car Crash: Batavia Police
Three other people were taken to a local hospital for treatment. An investigation into the Sunday evening crash is ongoing.
BATAVIA, IL — Two people died after a car crash in the 700 block of West Fabyan Parkway Sunday, according to Batavia police. Officers arrived at the scene to extricate passengers around 7:15 p.m.
A maroon 2017 Ford Mustang was traveling west on Fabyan Parkway when it crossed into eastbound lanes, hitting the passenger side of a white 2012 Kia Optima, according to police's initial investigation. After crashing, police said the sports car stopped in the parkway on the south side of the road, while the Kia stopped partially on the road and parkway near the other car.
The two people who were in the Mustang died at the scene, officials said. Police identified the driver as Batavia resident Farzin Khamis-Zadegan, 21. The passenger was 18-year-old Brian Froehlich, of Elburn.

The three people who were in the Kia were taken to a local hospital for treatment, according to police.
No additional information is available as the investigation is ongoing with the help of the Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team, police said. No citations have been issued.

"We would like to thank all those who came forward as witnesses in this investigation," police said in a statement.
