ALDI To Offer More Private-Label Organic Eats, Fresh Produce

New options will include more organic meats, veggie noodles, and kombucha.

BATAVIA, IL — Grocery powerhouse ALDI recently announced that it plans to increase its selection of fresh produce and organic, vegetarian, and gluten-free items. The nationwide expansion will increase new products in stores by 20% and expand each store's fresh food selection by 40%.

A spokesperson for ALDI said in an email that the new products will have an "emphasis on fresh, organic and easy-to-prepare options." Some new items customers will find on shelves and in freezers include veggie noodles, kale and quinoa burgers, gluten-free bagels, kombucha, and organic meats.

ALDI plans to roll out the large-scale product expansion as part of its ongoing initiative to revamp its stores and expand its footprint to 2,500 stores by 2022. As of early August, the company is more than 1/3 of the way through remodeling and updating its 130 Chicago area locations.
