
Amelia Earhart’s courageous exploits and spirited personality made her an international celebrity in the early twentieth century. On July 2, 1937, she and her navigator, Fred Noonan, mysteriously disappeared over the Pacific Ocean during their attempted around-the-world flight. Actress Leslie Goddard recounts Earhart’s life, the records she broke, her unconventional views on marriage, and her tireless work to promote aviation and opportunities for women Goddard holds a Ph.D. from Northwestern University, specializing in American studies and U.S. History, as well as master’s degrees in theater and in museum studies.
