BATAVIA, IL — Cocktails in the Park, Batavia MainStreet's primary fundraiser, will celebrate its 15th anniversary July 25 in downtown Batavia.
A beloved summer event, Cocktails in the Park brings together food, live music and cocktails, of course, to Appleton Park, nestled along the Fox River. The quindecennial event is planned from 7-10 p.m.
Proceeds from the event benefit the hosting nonprofit organization's year-round efforts to support downtown Batavia businesses and promote regional tourism. Its initiatives include the Batavia Farmers Market, Artisan Collective and Batavia Boardwalk Shops.
"Fifteen years ago, guests gathered on Clark Island for the very first 'Cocktails on Clark,'" Batavia MainStreet Assistant Director Kristen Desler said in a statement. "Today, Cocktails in the Park has become one of Batavia's signature summer traditions. We love seeing the community come together each year to celebrate downtown, enjoy a beautiful evening along the river, and support the ongoing work of Batavia MainStreet."
Tickets are on sale for Cocktails in the Park. Each costs $40 through noon July 24. If tickets are still available at the door, they'll cost $50.
Each ticket includes 10 small plates from local restaurants and vendors and a commemorative swag bag. The picnic table package, which costs $350, includes one reserved picnic table, six admission tickets and six drink tickets.
"New this year, our swag bags are all about keeping guests comfortable, prepared, and smiling all night long," Desler said. "Whether it's sunshine or a surprise summer shower, we'll have everyone covered with hand fans and ponchos and guests can end the evening by choosing either a sweet or spicy take-home treat."
Additional drink and raffle tickets may be purchased in advance or at the event for $8 each or $75 for 10.
Batavia MainStreet will also run a raffle this summer ahead of the event. For every $25 donation made to the organization, attendees will receive one entry into the Cocktails in the Park VIP Experience raffle. The package includes:
