BATAVIA, IL — Eclectic concerts, featuring hits from the '60s to now, are returning almost weekly as part of the Batavia Park District's River Rhapsody series.
Locals can pack up lawn chairs and blankets, make their way to the Peg Bond Center, 151 N. Island Ave., and enjoy scenic views while listening to a bit of everything, from rock, pop and country to R&B and soul music.
Take a look at the schedule for this summer. Each concert will last from 7-8:30 p.m.
"This year's summer series is exciting because we have many new bands. I am looking forward to hearing No Limits Sound Band and The Sting Rays play," event co-chair Bethanne Guidarelli said, per a news release from the Batavia Chamber of Commerce.
The concerts are weather dependent, officials said.
A new addition to the event series this summer is a rotation of food trucks planned for concerts. Cook's Ice Cream Truck will be on site June 24, July 22, July 29 and Aug. 5. Teddy D's Gourmet Grill, Jimmy John's, BBQ Food Truck and Pepe's will participate on select nights.
"We listened to feedback from attendees of last year's concerts who asked for more food options and we delivered," Elisha Sharp, event co-chair, said in a statement.
