Women Offered Ride By Strangers In 2 Incidents Near McKee Street, Jackson Street: Batavia Police

BATAVIA, IL — In two different incidents, a woman was recently approached by strangers offering her a ride, Batavia police said Friday.

The Batavia Police Department received reports of "suspicious vehicle/suspicious person incidents" June 21 and July 16 near McKee and Jackson streets.

Both incidents involved a person pulling up to a woman who was walking and asking her if she wanted a ride. In both incidents, the person described as a man in his 30s, police said Friday afternoon in a Facebook alert.

"The vehicle, described differently each time, is described as either a neon green SUV or a black SUV, both of an unknown make and model," police said.

The driver never exited the car.
