July Speed Enforcement Results In 66 Citations: Batavia Police

BATAVIA, IL — Batavia police's month-long speed enforcement campaign in July yielded a total of 66 tickets, officials said.

Between July 7-31, officers dedicated 58 hours to the Illinois Department of Transportation-hosted campaign focusing on speed enforcement.

Officers made 66 traffic contacts that led to the 66 citations, including 44 for speeding. Police also made three license-related arrests, according to a news release.

"Our message is simple: Buckle up. Slow down. Drive sober," Batavia police said. "Thank you to everyone choosing safe driving habits."
