5 Batavia City Council Seats Will Be On 2027 Consolidated Election Ballot

One seat in five of Batavia's seven aldermanic wards, all carrying four-year terms, will be up for grabs.

BATAVIA, IL — Five seats on the Batavia City Council will be on the ballot for the 2027 Consolidated Election.

On April 6, voters will take to the polls to select a new alderperson in five of Batavia's seven wards. The seats are currently held by Christopher Solfa in Ward 1, Alan Wolff in Ward 2, Tony Malay in Ward 4, Abby Beck in Ward 5 and Tim Lanci in Ward 6.

Kevin Malone and Alice Lohman, representing Ward 3, and Robin Barraza and Bob White, representing Ward 7, were last elected in 2025, meaning their terms will end in 2029.

Each aldermanic position is for a four-year term.

Prospective candidates can begin circulating petitions for the consolidated election on Aug. 25. The petition filing period is 8 a.m. Nov. 16 to 4:30 p.m. Nov. 23.
