Apartments Spared In Batavia Dumpster Fire

BATAVIA, IL - A dumpster and two cars caught fire in Batavia on Sunday, but all units of an adjacent apartment complex were spared, according to a notice from the city of Batavia on Facebook.

Fire units quickly put out the blaze in the 1000 block of Lorlyn Circle, which did not cause any injuries. Crews responded at 3:14 p.m. and had everything under control by 3:32 p.m. It took five ambulances, two trucks, five chiefs and a total of 22 people on the scene to get everything under control.

Firefighters used a deck gun and 2 ½” handline to control the blaze.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation Monday morning.
