The Bulldogs holds onto a slim lead at today's Class 6A semifinal in Batavia.

As expected, the semifinal win was not going to come easy.

Batavia was up just one point over Prairie Ridge going into the second half of their Class 6A semifinal game. The Bulldogs hosted the Wolves at , 1201 Main St.

Whoever wins this one has a Saturday, Nov. 26 championship game at Memorial Stadium on the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign campus downstate.

Prairie Ridge put points on the board first, but Batavia was able to tie them with starting senior quarterback Noel Gaspari's 48-yard touchdown pass to senior wide receiver Jon Gray during the first quarter.

The Wolves came back with more points, but the Bulldogs would not be denied in the second quarter.

Junior Zach Strittmatter had a second-quarter touchdown. With an extra-point kick, Batavia took the lead at 14-13.

Batavia has the ball for the start of the third quarter, now underway.
