Nominated for 5 Tony Awards® including best play “Other Desert Cities” is a scathingly funny, heart wrenching look at a family torn apart by a secret. After years away, Brook Wyeth returns to her parents’ Palm Springs home with a time bomb, the manuscript of her latest work. It is a memoir which reveals a devastating episode in the life of her wealthy family. Brook is still emotionally ravaged by these events but she is not the only one still affected. They disturbed the upbringing of Brook’s younger brother, opened a schism between her mother and her aunt, and shattered the orderly lives of her parents, causing their ostracism from an intimate circle of friends. Can revealing the truth finally set this family free? Rated PG13

Casting 2 Men (late 20’s – 70’s) and 3 Women (30’s – 60’s)

Character Descriptions:

Brook Wyeth –The intelligent, tortured and dry witted middle child of the Wyeth family. She is old enough to have solid memories of the events that took place, but young enough to perhaps misinterpret them. (mid 30’s-40’s)

Polly Wyeth – The tough, elegant, forthright and whip –smart matriarch of the Wyeth family. She will do whatever it takes to keep up appearances. (Late 50’s to 60’s)

Trip Wyeth -A bright, funny, TV Producer. Trip is the youngest of the Wyeth children and was a baby during the events that devastated the family. He has little to no memory of what actually took place.

Lyman Wyeth –A former actor, Lyman is sturdy, gentle, dignified and very firm in his beliefs. In both Lyman and Polly there is an aura of old Hollywood. (60’s to early 70’s)

Silda Grauman - a bit of a loose cannon, Silda is the wise-cracking, just-out-of-rehab mess of an aunt, but she is also bestowed with a wealth of savvy wisdom. (60’s)

Performance dates for “Other Desert Cities” are February 26, 27, 28, March 4, 5, 6, 12 & 13. Rated PG13. Please contact The Albright Theatre Company at 630-406-8838, visit www.albrighttheatre.com, find them on Facebook or follow them on Twitter for more updates and information.
