Aurora Student to Perform as 'Tarzan's Father' in Disney's Tarzan Musical
Aurora's own Jared Bailey to Perform as 'Tarzan's Father' in this weekends Spotlight Youth Theater's musical production of Disney's Tarzan.
Jared Bailey, 17, is performing in his 21st Spotlight show this weekend. He will be taking on the role of Tarzan’s father who becomes shipwrecked on an unknown island. In this scene, you will actually see- on stage, a shipwreck, and the husband swimming down deep into the water, to save his wife and bring her back up to safety. This is one of my favorite scenes and it is so well done!
As said before, Jared has performed in many shows, all of them being with Spotlight Aurora. His very first show was Suessical, which was way back in 2008. His favorite shows have been Pocohantas, and Tall Tales, both in which he had a lead role or a supporting lead role. His favorite roles has been that of Farkus- in Tall Tales, and Dodger- in Oliver, in which he was the understudy. Other shows he has performed in have been Narnia, Annie, The Little Mermaid, Robin Hood, Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Beauty and The Beast, Jungle Book, Peter Pan, Godspell, Honk, and Aladdin.
When Jared is not on stage you can find him at the skate park with his skate board, playing video games, doing improv, or just hanging out with his friends, many of who are from Spotlight. Jared is well liked by many and understandably so. He is a fun loving guy, always willing to help, and always looking to include someone who might not feel included.
