Batavia Blotter: Battery, Domestic Battery, Sexual Abuse

The following information was supplied by the Batavia Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Batavia police reports prior to Sept. 25 include three recorded instances of battery, domestic battery or criminal sexual abuse.

Sexual Abuse Charges

Batavia police arrested Misael Hernandez, 23, of Batavia on charges of criminal sexual abuse of a victim between the ages of 13 and 17. He also was charged with battery insulting or provoking contact. He posted $2,750 bond and has a court date of Oct. 8. 

Domestic Battery Charges

Batavia police arrested Abdel Cardenas, 43, of Batavia on charges of domestic battery bodily harm and domestic battery physical contact, according to a report filed at 12:02 a.m. Sept. 17 in the 300 block of Chestnut Street, reports said. Cardenas was transported to the Kane County Jail.

Juveniles at JB Nelson

Two juveniles were involved in a battery report at JB Nelson School, 334 William Wood Lane, according to a report filed at 6:04 p.m. Sept. 11. That is all the information provided by Batavia police.
