Batavia's police blotter for the week of Oct. 21 to Oct. 28 was filled with pre-halloween tricks and treats — OK, mostly tricks.
Animal Stories
- A sick/injured raccoon was disposed of at 217 Franklyn St., according to a report filed at 7:51 p.m. Oct. 27.
- An animal complaint was filed at 10:07 p.m. Oct. 27 at the Police Department, 100 N. Island Ave. No further information is available.
Homeless Man Charged With Trespass
Batavia police banned a homeless man, David J. Randle, 50, from 525 N. River St. Randle signed the ban notice, according to a report at 8:53 p.m. Oct. 27.

Suspicious Incident
A complainant who lives in the 700 block of Lathem reported that two subjects were at her door trying to sell her life insurance after she had directly told them she was not interested, according to a report at 8:27 p.m. Oct. 25. The subjects were confronted and agreed to leave and not return.

Battery
A victim from North Aurora told police that a male white subject in a blue hoody shoved him and punched him in the face while at a party, according to a report at 1:55 am. Oct. 26 in the 200 block of Aldrin Lane. The subject, who was bleeding from the nose, refused medical treatment. Officers were unable to locate the offender.
Battery at High School
A battery was reported at 9:51 a.m. Oct. 22 at Batavia High School, 1201 E. Main St. A juvenile was taken into custody, but that is all the information in the report.
Theft of Garbage Can
Someone took a garbage can from a residence in the 500 block of State Street, according to a report at 12:18 p.m. Oct. 24. The value of the garbage can is unknown, but the report was in the category of theft under $500.
