Batavia Fire Hydrant Flushing To Begin In April
The water will be safe to drink, but officials said residents should let their faucets run for a few minutes if they notice discoloration.

BATAVIA, IL — Fire hydrants flushing throughout Batavia is set to begin April 3, officials announced.
Hydrants will be flushed from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday as part of the city's ongoing maintenance program, which is not only meant to ensure all hydrants are working properly but to improve the overall quality of water by cleaning mains of rust and corrosion.
During the process, Batavia officials said water is safe to drink, but residents should let their faucets run for a few minutes if there's any discoloration in the water.
