Batavia High School Named To AP School Honor Roll
Last year, 50 percent of Batavia High School seniors took at least one AP exam, District 101 announced.
BATAVIA, IL — Batavia High School was recognized for its Advanced Placement program, Batavia Public School District 101 announced.
The College Board placed the school on its 2025 Advanced Placement Program School Honor Roll and gave it the "Silver" distinction.
The honor roll recognizes schools whose AP programs are "delivering results for students while broadening participation," District 101 said in a news release. Schools can earn the recognition annually.

"AP gives students the opportunity to engage with college-level work, earn college credit and placement, and build professional career skills they can use no matter what path they choose after high school," Trevor Packer, head of the AP program, said in a statement. "Congratulations to this year’s AP School Honor Roll recipients for proving it’s possible to expand participation in these rigorous courses and still drive strong performance."
Last year, 50 percent of Batavia High School seniors took at least one AP exam, with 39 percent scoring 3 — out of 5 — or higher on at least one test. About 12 percent of students took five or more AP exams. The school has 19 staff members certified to teach AP-level courses.

The College Board's program offers AP courses in 40 subjects.
"We are honored to be named to the 2024–25 AP School Honor Roll and are extremely proud of our students and teachers for their dedication, hard work, and commitment to excellence," said Associate Principal Bob Dietz, per the release.
