
The 66th annual Key Club District Convention and Leadership conference was held March 11-13 in Springfield, Illinois. Key Clubs from the Illinois-Eastern Iowa District met for a weekend of collaboration, voting for district officers, and a shared love of volunteering. The students that participated at the convention were Haley Baumgartner, Bridget Ball, Bridget Grimm, Maggie Keating, and Sara Wheat. Many awards were presented for the work done over the past year, Batavia Key Club received the following awards:
1st place Oratorical Contest (she delivered her speech to 600+ attendees)- Senior Haley Baumgartner, BHS Key Club President 1st place - Illinois-Eastern Iowa District Greatest Overall Contribution to Spastic Paralysis ($16,000)
1st place - Illinois-Eastern Iowa District Greatest Average Donation Per Member (approximately $155 per member)

Other recognition we received: 100% Reporting Award, Technology Award, Super Kiwanis Family Relations Award, Interclub Award, District Theme and Major Emphasis Award, Club Bulletin / Newsletter Award, and Public Relations Award.
