Batavia Man 'Dared' Child To Send Him Sexual Photos For Payment: Cops

BATAVIA, IL — A Batavia man is facing multiple felony charges after police said he "dared" a child to send him sexual photographs for payment, among other acts.

Christopher Narup was charged Tuesday with child luring, offender 21 or older; sexual exploitation of a child under 13, remove clothes; and grooming, officials said.

An investigation into 27-year-old Narup began Feb. 22 when parents reported discovering sexually provocative messages on their child's cell phone, according to a Wednesday news release.

Police said contact between the man and the child began about six years ago when they would meet at various parks in Batavia. They eventually exchanged phone numbers and began communicating through text messages and Snapchat.

In an act of grooming, Narup began "daring" the victim to commit various acts, including sending sexual photographs for money, according to detectives.

Police's investigation consisted of interviewing people involved and gathering forensic evidence. A day after the man was arrested and charged, he was processed at the Batavia Police Department and transported to the Kane County jail for a hearing.
