Batavia New Year's Eve Events: 2021 Guide

Ring in 2022 by checking out these New Year's Eve parties and celebrations happening in and around Batavia.

BATAVIA, IL — A new year is right around the corner, and as Batavia residents are gearing up with resolutions and goals for 2022, several local establishments are preparing for New Year's Eve festivities.

Several venues, restaurants and bars in Batavia will host special celebrations — some include musical performances, while others include fine menus.

With COVID-19 on the rise thanks to the omicron variant, plans have the possibility to change, so guests are encouraged to call in advance or keep track of social media for last-minute updates.

If a formal affair isn't your New Year's Eve cup of tea, some bars in Batavia will be open for regular business. Bulldogs Cellar will be open until 1 a.m., while Riverside Pizza will stay open until midnight on both Friday and Saturday.

Acquaviva Ristorante, at 35 N. Water St., will also be open on New Year's Eve, serving specials that include filet mignon, lamb chops, Chilean seabass and Italian Zuppa di Mare.

The Sidecar Supper Club & Beer Garden, 12 N. River St.

Celebrate New Year's Eve with live music and supper at the Sidecar Supper Club. Featuring prime rib and scallops, dinner reservations at the restaurant are available between 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Matt Shukin and The Ramblers will kick off their performance at 9:30 p.m. and lead guests into the new year with a champagne toast at midnight. Party people will also have the chance to enter a raffle for a chance to win two tickets to the next beer dinner, scheduled for Jan. 19 at Penrose Brewing.

The Comedy Vault, 18 E. Wilson St.

Comedian Mike Kaplan, whose stage name is Myq Kaplan, is hosting several shows at The Comedy Vault Thursday through Saturday, including a late-night one starting at 9:30 p.m. on New Year's Eve. If Kaplan's name is familiar, it's likely because he has appeared on several late-night shows, including The Tonight Show, Conan, The Late Show with David Letterman and Late Night with Seth Meyers.

As a 21-plus show, each guest will be required to purchase two drinks or food items. Admission costs $45 per person, and tickets can be purchased here.

Batavia Moose Lodge, 1535 S. Batavia Ave.

Dinner, drinks and dancing: that's how the Batavia Moose Lodge will be ringing in the new year. The legion is hosting a prom — yes, formal attire and prom-themed dress is required — on Friday with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. and lasting into Saturday morning.

At 7 p.m., a prime rib dinner will be served, which will lead into a live musical performance from Pawnshop between 8:30 p.m. and midnight. That's when a champagne toast and balloon drop will welcome 2022.

Tickets cost $50 a person and are available to members and qualified guests. They can be purchased only from the bartenders in the Social Quarters.

Funway, 1335 S. River St.

For fun for the whole family, Funway is hosting an assortment of New Year's Eve parties. A family skate party, a bowling party and a late-night party are all options. With time slots varying — the latest being the late-night option from 10:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. — food and fun are available starting as early as 5 p.m.
