Batavia Non-Profit Celebrates 13th Anniversary with Local Artists Show

Join us Sept 9th from 6p.m.-9p.m. at Water Street Studios

Batavia, IL - Water Street Studios, a non-profit community art center located at 160 S. Water Street, will be commemorating its 13th anniversary with a gallery launch party on Friday, Sept. 9th from 6pm-9pm. The gallery show has been curated from more than 50 of Water Street Studios’ artists, art instructors and staff making this truly a celebration by the community, for the community. There will be music, food, drinks and demonstrations from Water Street’s metalsmithing instructor, Mark Adams and ceramics instructor, Jeremy Foy. This event is open to all and will serve as both a celebration and fundraising event.

Executive Director, James Tracy said “Water Street Studios has grown from a core group of dedicated artists with a dream to bring studio space to Batavia, to the community art center it is today, and I am proud to be a part of its continued success. We owe thanks to all the artists, volunteers, staff, and community members who have left their mark over the years and helped us form the bedrock of this unique organization. As we rebound from the shutdowns of 2020, we are now able to offer over 100 different art classes per semester, host 26 artist studios and an expansive clay lab to continue our mission of exposing as many people as possible to the arts. The 13th Anniversary Show was put together to celebrate these artists, their work, and the community at large. Please join us in celebration!”

Opening reception will be held September 9th, from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.
