Wait Until Morning To Put Trash Out Due To High Winds: Batavia
Batavia residents should wait to place their garbage cans at the curb until 7 a.m. Thursday, officials said in an alert Wednesday morning.

BATAVIA, IL — The National Weather Service has placed Kane County, along with other neighboring counties, under a high wind warning starting at 6 p.m. Wednesday and lasting until 6 a.m. Thursday. As a result, Batavia officials issued an alert asking residents not to place garbage cans at the curb overnight and instead wait until 7 a.m. Thursday.
Garbage collection is not canceled this week and will be completed as normal.

Winds will be between 30 and 35 mph with gusts possibly up to 60 mph, according to the weather service. As a precaution, Batavia officials are encouraging residents to also secure any decorations and outdoor furniture that may blow away, according to a community alert sent Wednesday morning.
Along with possibly damaging winds, Wednesday could bring potentially record-breaking warmth, Patch reported. A high of 68 degrees is possible, and there's a chance for rain and thunderstorms Wednesday evening.
