Batavia Park District Named 'Top Workplace' By Tribune

The Batavia Park District was recognized as one of the best small workplaces in Chicagoland.

BATAVIA, IL – The Batavia Park District has been awarded a 2017 Top Workplaces honor by The Chicago Tribune. The local park district was ranked No. 12 in the category of "Small Workplaces" of 249 or fewer employees. The Tribune's Top Workplaces lists are based solely on the results of an employee feedback survey administered by Energage, LLC, a leading research firm that specializes in organizational health and workplace improvement.

It's the second year in a row the Batavia Park District, which has 131 employees, has been recognized in this capacity.

“This award is a clear reflection of the talent of our people and the extent to which they collaborate in order to provide a high level of value to our constituents," Batavia Park District Executive Director, Allison Niemela said. "Being a local governmental entity, this is not an easy feat. Our efforts at recognizing the importance of achieving a positive work/life balance and the establishment of a strong internal culture provide the cornerstone for maintaining a creative and energetic workplace environment."

The distinction went to a total if 125 businesses, including 55 in the small workplaces category.
