Batavia Police: Dead Deer, Criminal Trespass, Telephone Threats

The following arrest information was supplied by the Batavia Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Batavia police officers responded to the following incidents on Jan. 14. Here they are in chronological order:

12:01 p.m.—Criminal Trespass to State Property

A 22-year-old Aurora man is headed to court after an incident on Batavia's east side.

Robert Liane Walker III, of the 400 block of Grand Avenue in Aurora, was arrested at Batavia Apartments on the 1300 block of East Wilson Street.

A female victim said Walker showed up at her apartment. She informed the responding officer that Walker is banned from the complex, according to a police report.

Walker was taken into custody for processing. He was issued a notice to appear with a court date of Feb. 7.

1:13 p.m.—Telephone Threats

A victim reported being harassed by a suspect offender on the 300 block of Randall Road after breaking up with him.

The responding officer made phone contact with the offender. The officer advised the offender not to contact the victim.

1:43 p.m.—10-50 Hit and Run

A 57-year-old Elburn man and an unknown driver were involved in a hit-and-run crash on the city's west side.

The crash took place at 531 N. Randall Road, according to a police report.

2:29 p.m.—Open Door

An open front door was spotted at a business downtown.

The responding officer checked the interior and nothing was disturbed inside the business, located on the 100 block of West Wilson Street.

A keyholder arriver and secured the door.

2:33 p.m.—Car Crash: Property Damage

A crash was reported at 401 N. Randall Road. No other information was immediately available.

3:48 p.m.—Traffic Arrest

A 36-year-old West Chicago resident is headed to court after an incident on the city's east side.

Rosario Carmona, of the 800 block of Parkside Avenue, was cited for the following:

  • License suspended, revoked or canceled
  • No valid drivers license
  • Speeding
  • Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle

The incident occurred at East Fabyan and Paramount parkways, according to a police report.

Carmona posted $150 bond and was released with a court date of Feb. 14.

6:46 p.m.—Assist

Smoke was observed coming from the roof of a residence at 123 N. Jefferson St.

The resident arrived home from shopping and did not know what would have caused the fire. A preliminary investigation indicates the fire started in the basement, according to a police report.

The home was unlivable after the fire, Batavia Fire Battalion Chief Randy Zies told Batavia Patch. An area of the kitchen floor was completely burned through.

The damage compromised the stability of a large area of the first floor, and extensive damage was done to the floor joists that support the kitchen area, Zies said.

The time needed for repairs will depend on the damage and the work crews' pace, he said.

7:32 p.m.—Car Crash: Property Damage

A 28-year-old Bartlett man was involved in a collision on the city's east side.

A deer was struck at East Fabyan Parkway and Thoria Road. The deer was deceased at the scene, according to a police report.

7:45 p.m.—Domestic Trouble

A domestic incident was reported on the 1300 block of Lundberg Avenue.

No other information was available on this incident.

7:54 p.m.—Car Crash: Property Damage

A 17-year-old Batavia girl received two citations after an incident on the city's west side.

The girl, from the 1400 block of Huey Court, was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and for an uninsured motor vehicle, according to a police report.

The incident happened at Deerpath Road and Main Street.

7:58 p.m.—Traffic Arrest

A 35-year-old Batavia man is headed to court after an incident downtown.

Andres Rodriguez, of the 200 block of Church Street, was cited for no valid drivers license and failure to stop or yield before emerging from an alley or driveway.

The incident occurred at 32 N. Island Ave., according to a police report.

Rodriguez was issued a notice to appear with a court date of Feb. 14.

8:26 p.m.—Deceptive Practices

An incident of deceptive practices was reported on the 200 block of East Wilson Street. No other information was available on this incident.

9:56 p.m.—Missing Juvenile

A female juvenile left a residence on the city's west side without permission.

The complainant later called to say the juvenile had returned to the 600 block of South Batavia Avenue, and that her mother took custody of her.
