Batavia Police Will Auction Unclaimed Items
The police department announced it would auction off unclaimed items, including watches and rings, using an online platform.
BATAVIA, IL — Items that have been lost and waiting for their owners at the Batavia Police Department will be placed for sale through an online auction, officials announced.
Police notified the community of the news in a notice on Facebook Tuesday. Items including hand tools, knives, sporting goods, rings and watches will be auctioned on Property Room, an online police auction site.
The auction site works with law enforcement agencies across the country to help auction their seized, stolen, abandoned and surplus goods. Various categories of items are available, from cars and electronics to jewelry and fine art.
