Batavia Public Library to honor Susan S. Russo, April 19

Susan S. Russo is being recognized as a Library Leader. The public is invited to a reception in her honor.

Batavia Public Library will host a reception to recognize Batavia resident Susan S. Russo as a Library Leader, at 2 p.m., Sunday, April 19, in the Founders Room at the library, 10 S. Batavia Ave. The public is invited.

Russo was named a Library Leader at the Library Board’s January meeting. Russo was on the Board of Library Trustees from 1998 to 2003 and was president of the board when the current library building opened in 2002.

In her letter nominating Russo for Library Leader, former library trustee Lynn Elam said Russo “was the driving force that resulted in two successful referenda, sale and purchase of downtown property, and the construction of a new centrally located library.”
