Batavia School Presents The Lion King, Jr.

Broadway comes to Immanuel Lutheran School, Batavia.

Immanuel Lutheran School-Batavia is proud to present Disney’s The Lion King, Jr. on Fri., Apr. 20 at 6:30 PM and again on Sun., Apr. 22 at 2 PM. Tickets are $2 each for this amazing event for all members of the family.

As the story goes, the lion prince is born in Africa, making his Uncle Scar the second in line to be king. Scar plots to kill King Mufasa and Prince Simba with the help of the hyenas, making himself king. The production includes favorite Disney tunes Hakuna Matata and The Circle of Life, among others.

The Lion King, Jr. is directed by parent volunteers Bill McLane and Rebecca Bello. Choreography is led by ministry director Kari Larsen and ILS music teacher Katie Rudy is working the chorus through the challenging music score. Technical Director Heather Davis is coordinating sound and light and a team of ten middle school students are working with the director of marketing and communications on internal and external publicity for the show. Three of these students wrote the bulk of this article and selected the design for the play bill and posters from designs submitted by the student body.
