Batavia VFW Supporter, Past Ladies Auxiliary President Barb Zeman Dies

Zeman recently co-chaired the Batavia Loyalty Day Parade with her husband Bob. She was 62.

A 62-year-old woman who contributed to many Batavia organizations has died.

Barbara Zeman of Aurora suddenly passed away on June 30, according to an obituary on the Dieterle Funeral Home website.

Zeman was involved in Batavia Woman of the Moose #722, past president of the Batavia VFW Ladies Auxiliary, regional president of the 19th District Ladies Auxiliary VFW Illinois and more.

Batavia resident Yvonne Dinwiddie said that Zeman put her heart and soul into everything she did, according to an article in the Aurora Beacon-News.

Zeman's obituary says she is survived by her husband Robert and daughter Tracy Banser.

Visitation for Zeman will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway Ave., Montgomery. A Woman of the Moose Service will begin at 6:30 p.m. that day.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. July 6 at the Memorial Home.
