BatFest Is This Weekend In Batavia
Several activities will take place on Saturday as part of the Batavia BatFest 2017.

BATAVIA, IL — BatFest, Batavia's annual pre-Halloween celebration, will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28 in 2017. The one-day festival that includes trick-or-treating, a parade and several contests is expected to draw about 2,500 visitors this year.
The festival will take shape around downtown Batavia and the Batavia Riverwalk and Peg Bond Pavillion, according to a Facebook event listing.
It will also mark the last event of the Batavia outdoor Farmer's Market season in 2017.

- 10 a.m.: Dance Performance
- 10:30 a.m.: Monster Mash Lesson and Performance by Batavia Academy of Dance
- 11 a.m.: Dance Performance
- Noon: All Dressed Up Costumes Costume Contest
- 12:45 p.m.: Thriller Performance by Batavia Academy of Dance
- 1 p.m.: Batavia Animal Clinic Pet Costume Contest
Daytime Fun:
- 10 a.m. - Noon: Downtown Trick-Or-Treating & Batavia Farmers' Market
- 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.: Pumpkin Roll Hosted by Boy Scout Troop 6
- Marshmallow Shooting Range Hosted by Soleunique Dance Complex
- DIY Treat Bags Hosted by School of Art
- Bat-Booth and Games Hosted by Sponsors and Businesses
- Pumpkin Carving Battles Hosted by Water Street Studios
- 11:30 a.m.: BatFest Stories and Songs (At the Batavia Public Library of Illinois)
- 11:50 a.m.: Halloween Parade Hosted by Batavia Mothers' Club Foundation and Funway Ultimate Entertainment Center- beginning at the Library
- Noon - 2 p.m.: Tractor Pulled Hayrides Hosted by Batavia Park District- with donation to Batavia Interfaith Food Pantry and Clothes Closet
- Spooky Short Scenes Hosted by The Albright Theatre Company at Appleton Park Stage (Eastside of City Hall)
