Bicyclist Critically Injured By Minivan During Crash: Batavia PD
The minivan driver crashed into the bicyclist Tuesday afternoon in the intersection of Batavia Avenue and Millview Drive.
BATAVIA, IL — A bicyclist was airlifted to a hospital in critical condition Tuesday after they were hit by a minivan on South Batavia Avenue, police said.
Batavia police are investigating the crash that occurred at about 4:42 p.m. at the intersection with Millview Drive. A preliminary investigation shows the driver of a newer Honda minivan was driving north on Batavia Avenue when it hit the bicyclist, which was about to exit Les Arends Forest Preserve crossing Batavia Avenue toward Millview Drive, officials said.
The bicyclist was flown to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove. None of the occupants in the minivan were injured, according to police.

Batavia Avenue was shut down between Mooseheart Road and Sycamore Lane for more than two hours while police investigated.
Police said they are not releasing any additional information while the investigation is ongoing with assistance from the Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team.
