The City of Batavia is pleased to announce that Eric Blowers has taken the Oath of Office and been appointed to the position of Deputy Police Chief.

Eric joined the Batavia Police Department in 2007 and has served in a variety of roles during his tenure with the Department, including: Patrol Officer, Patrol Officer-in-Charge (OIC), Detective, Sergeant, Detective Sergeant and Watch Commander of Investigations. He currently serves as a member of the Kane County Major Crimes Officer-Involved-Death Review Team. He has recently been recommended for appointment to the position of deputy commander of the Kane County Major Crimes Task Force.

Eric has received numerous awards and commendations throughout his career. He was the recipient of the Department’s Officer of the Year Award in 2009. He was recently recognized by the Federal Bureau of Investigation for outstanding assistance and leadership he provided in a joint investigative effort during a multi-jurisdictional domestic terrorism investigation.

Eric is a graduate of Western Illinois University with a degree in law enforcement studies. He also attended Northwestern University’s School of Police Staff and Command in 2017.
