Batavia student named to University of Hartford's president's honors list
The University of Hartford is pleased to announce Miah Miglore of Batavia has been named to its President's Honors List for Fall 2022.

The President's Honors List is made up of an extremely select group of students who earned a grade point average of 3.75 or higher in the semester. This is the GPA that must be sustained over a full undergraduate career to qualify for a degree summa cum laude.

Student from Batavia inducted into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi
Ashley Liljeberg of Batavia, Illinois, was recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society. Liljeberg was initiated at Elmhurst University.
Liljeberg is among approximately 25,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni to be initiated into Phi Kappa Phi each year. Membership is by invitation only and requires nomination and approval by a chapter. Only the top 10 percent of seniors and 7.5 percent of juniors are eligible for membership. Graduate students in the top 10 percent of the number of candidates for graduate degrees may also qualify, as do faculty, professional staff and alumni who have achieved scholarly distinction.

Dean's list at Bates College features Batavia student
Micah Shimizu, of Batavia, was named to the dean's list at Bates College for the fall semester ending in December 2022. This is a distinction earned by students whose grade point average is 3.92 or higher.
Shimizu, the son of Hidetada Shimizu and Emily Shimizu, is a graduate of Batavia High School. He is a first-year at Bates.

Sara Wheat receives degree from Georgia Tech
Sara Wheat of Batavia, IL, has earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta.
Wheat was among approximately 5,620 undergraduate and graduate students to be presented Georgia Tech degrees during the Institute's 263rd Commencement exercises Dec. 16 - 17, 2022, at Bobby Dodd Stadium.

Augustana College senior nominated for 'More Than I Imagined' series
Augustana College senior John Le, a political science and philosophy double major from Batavia, was nominated to submit a “More Than I Imagined” profile by Dr. Deke Gould, lecturer in philosophy.
Annually, faculty nominate Augustana's seniors who have achieved remarkable academic or personal growth to appear in the college's 'More Than I Imagined' series. Read Le's profile at “More Than I Imagined.”
Dr. Gould said Le is the sort of student one hopes to work with, one who truly grasps the value of his liberal arts education.
