Forty-eight students at Augustana College, in Rock Island, Ill., recently were inducted into the college's Phi Beta Kappa chapter.
This national academic honor society recognizes scholarly achievement, character, integrity, and independence of mind. Members are elected by faculty. Election is less a reward for past success than a recognition of exceptional promise for future growth and achievement.
Students honored at the May 22 induction ceremony include Jessica Mangers, of Batavia.

Miami University students who are ranked in the top twenty percent of undergraduate students within each division for the spring semester 2023 have been named to the Dean's list recognizing academic excellence.

Batavia student makes dean’s list at Wisconsin Lutheran College
Lauren Nelson, of Batavia, a senior at Wisconsin Lutheran College, has been named to the college's Dean's List for the spring 2023 semester. Lauren is a graduate of Aurora Central Catholic High School.
To be eligible for Dean's List, a student must carry a semester GPA of 3.6 or higher.

University of Mississippi announces spring 2023 chancellor's honor roll
Alexis Newendyke, of Batavia, IL, was named to the University of Mississippi's Spring 2023 Honor Roll lists.
Newendyke, majoring in Elementary Education, was named to the Chancellor's Honor Roll, which is reserved for students who earn a semester GPA of 3.75-4.00.
