College Credits: Batavia Students Make Dean's Lists Across Country

BHS alumna makes dean’s list at Carthage College

Eleni Salas, a 2022 Batavia High School graduate, made the dean’s list at Carthage College in Wisconsin. Eleni is a nursing major.

Student from Batavia interned with Communication and Marketing

Augustana College senior Brett Kuras interned this past summer with the college's Office of Communication and Marketing Department.

Kuras, a political science and multimedia journalism and mass communication major from Batavia, IL, created social media posts for the college and wrote news stories for the college's news section, including a feature on Augustana College students researching endangered species in the African bush and a profile on Vikings pitcher Josh Wintroub '22.

This summer, more than 180 Augustana College students engaged in summer internships, with students having interned in 20 states and eight countries.

Local students graduate from Bradley University

Bradley University congratulates the 900-plus students who earned degrees in May. The following students earned degrees:

• Colin Misura of Batavia (60510) received a BSME in Mechanical Engineering
• Charles Bardol of Batavia (60510) received a BSME in Mechanical Engineering

Batavia students named to Bradley University Spring 2023 Dean's List

More than 1700 students were named to Bradley's Dean's List for Spring 2023. To be eligible for the Dean's List, a student must achieve a minimum 3.5 grade point average for the semester on a 4.0 scale.

Local student named to dean's list at University of Maryland Global Campus

Gabriela Allison of Batavia was named to the Dean's List for the spring semester at University of Maryland Global Campus. To be eligible for the honor, a student must complete at least six credits during the term, earned a grade point average of at least 3.5 for the term, and maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.5 at UMGC.
