Batavia student named to Western Carolina University's dean's list

Congratulations to Sierra Leatherman, of Batavia, IL, for being named to the Western Carolina University Spring 2023 Dean's List.

Leatherman was among more than 3,000 students to achieve this honor. To qualify for this honor, students must earn a GPA of 3.5 or higher while completing a minimum of 12 credit hours.

Local students graduate from University of Wisconsin-Whitewater

The following students earned degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater at spring commencement, held May 13, 2023.

• Batavia: Faris Kahvedzic graduated with the following degree: Business Administration - Master of Business Administration
• Batavia: Morgan Steinys graduated Summa Cum Laude with the following degree: Communication Sciences and Disorders - Bachelor of Science

More than 1,500 students crossed the stage to receive their degrees at the ceremony, held at Kachel Fieldhouse in the Williams Center.

Augustana College's spring semester dean's list

Augustana College announced more than 1,000 students were named to the Dean's List for the 2022-23 spring semester. Students who have earned this academic honor have maintained a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a four-point scale for courses taken during the term.
