Couple Plans To Open Book Shop In Downtown Batavia
Batavia residents James Stickling and Lizzy Evensen are making their dream come true with The Book Shop.

BATAVIA, IL - A Batavia couple is following their dream with plans to open a brick-and-mortar book store in the city in 2018. The Kane County Chronicle reports on the endeavor of James Stickling and Lizzy Evensen. The two plan to open The Book Shop at 15 N. River Street in March, having already had test runs of opening the business for a few hours at a time.
Stickling and Evensen sold about 300 books in just a few hours when they opened an outdoor pop-up market on River Street for a few hours.
They have also been at Batavia's Christmas Collective market at the Congregational Church and sold books at the poolroom of Bulldog’s Cellar.

They plan to sell more books out of their space downtown on Saturdays until opening full-time in March.
