'Despondent' Man Found Dead Near HC Storm School In Batavia: Cops
Police say the man was "armed" and "despondent" before they found him dead southwest of the school.
BATAVIA, IL — Batavia Police have launched a death investigation after a man who was described as armed and "despondent" was found dead behind H.C. Storm Elementary School Saturday evening. The man's body was discovered in a wooded area southwest of the school property by police who were at the scene.
At around 6:20 p.m., police responded to a report of a "suicidal male with a shotgun" at the school. They secured the property and dispatched the Kane County SWAT team for assistance before locating the deceased man.
No information has been released regarding the man's identity.

As the investigation continues, police are asking for two people they encountered at the scene to come forward in the hopes that they can question them regarding the circumstances surrounding the man's death. They were described as a white male and female walking a medium sized dog near the school's playground.
