Elgin Man Charged In Batavia Domestic Stabbing: Cops
Police charged Cornelius Ames, 28, of Elgin, with criminal trespass to property and disorderly conduct.

BATAVIA, IL — An Elgin man has been charged in connection with a domestic stabbing in Batavia. Cornelius Ames, 28, of Smith Road, faces charges of criminal trespass to property, disorderly conduct, and harassment by electronic communication in connection with the Aug. 16 incident.
On Aug. 16 police received a report of a domestic stabbing in the 400 block of S. Jackson Street just before 11:30 p.m. When they arrived at the scene, they found a male, 29, with a laceration wound on his hand. Another male, 28, later identified as Ames, had "multiple puncture wounds" on his back, police say.
According to police, the stabbing was an isolated incident and the public was not in danger.
