The Essential Christmas Carol
Dicken's "A Christmas Carol" is revisited by historian William Pack
“The Essential Christmas Carol” will be presented at 2 p.m., December 13, at the Batavia Public Library.
To pay off some debt, Charles Dickens quickly wrote A Christmas Carol. Little did he know it was destined to become one of the most enduring Christmas stories of all time. His public readings of the story were dramatic, hypnotic, and hugely popular. Author, historian, and performer William Pack tells the story behind the story and recreates a Victorian era magic lantern show of A Christmas Carol, while reading from the abridged version of this classic story.
