Ex-Batavia Resident Pleads Guilty To Child Porn Charge: Mosser
The 31-year-old man disseminated a child pornography video prior to November 2022, prosecutors said in court.

BATAVIA, IL — A former Batavia resident was sentenced to eight years in prison for disseminating child pornography, according to the Kane County State's Attorney's Office.
David L. Newtoff, who resides in the 160 block of West Diane Way in Manhattan and previously in Batavia, agreed to the prison sentence in exchange for a guilty plea to the felony offense of child pornography.
The 31-year-old man disseminated a child pornography video prior to November 2022, prosecutors said in court. Kane County Judge Dave Kliment accepted Newtoff's guilty plea.

The Kane County Child Exploration Unit, a collaboration between the state's attorney's office and the sheriff's office, investigated Newtoff. The Illinois Attorney General's office and the Internet Crimes Against Children's Task Force helped.
Newtoff is eligible for day-for-day sentencing and receives credit for the two days served in the Kane County jail. In addition to his prison sentence, he must register for life as a sexual offender per Illinois law.

"Child pornography is not a victimless crime," Assistant State's Attorney Matt Rodgers said in a statement. "My thanks to everyone with the Child Exploitation Unit for their work on this case."
