Gas Price Update: Batavia Prices Drop In December
The average price for a gallon of gas in Kane County is $3.46.

BATAVIA, IL — It's been a tumultuous year for gas prices in Batavia. With December in full swing, it's worth noting prices have dropped significantly in the last month.
As of Thursday, the average price for a gallon of gas in Illinois was $3.54 — that's down 19 cents from a week ago and 75 cents from a month ago, according to AAA.
At around $3.46 per gallon in Kane County, gas prices were slightly below the state average. Nationally, the cost per gallon of gas is going for an average of $3.32 Thursday.

"Gas prices are dropping sharply and are only a nickel more per gallon than a year ago," said Andrew Gross, AAA spokesperson. "But with oil being the main ingredient in gasoline, OPEC+'s move could slow this decline. However, the gas price will likely soon be lower than it was a year ago."
According to GasBuddy, the cheapest gas in Batavia is selling for $3.33 per gallon at Walmart, 885 N. Randall Road. Here is what other stations around town are charging:
