Gas Price Update: Batavia Prices See Slight Decrease

The average price for gas in Kane County was about $5.68 per gallon Monday. Here is where to find the least expensive gas in town.

BATAVIA, IL — The more time passes, the more painful it gets for Batavia residents to see the price of a tank of gas. But after a period of sharp increase, prices are decreasing slightly.

Prices in Illinois remain high, with the average price for gas being $5.43 per gallon as of Monday, according to AAA. That's 7 cents cheaper than a week ago.

At around $5.62 per gallon in Kane County, gas prices were above the state average.

Nationally Monday, the average was still under $5 at about $4.90 per gallon.

With prices as high as they are, you can still save a little bit if you know where to look in Batavia.

According to GasBuddy, the cheapest gas in Batavia is selling for $5.42 per gallon at Walmart, 885 N. Randall Road. Here is what other stations around town are charging:

  • Feece Oil Co. at 1700 Hubbard Ave.; $5.49 per gallon
  • Mobil at 2074 Main St.; $5.69 per gallon
  • Shell at 200 E. Fabyan Parkway; $5.69 per gallon
  • Mobil at 27 N. Batavia Ave.; $5.69 per gallon
  • Speedway at 1495 E. Wilson St.; $5.73 per gallon
