Gas Price Update: Price Per Gallon Now Near $6 In Batavia

The average price for gas in Kane County was about $5.78 per gallon Wednesday. Here is where to find the least expensive gas in town.

BATAVIA, IL — The more time passes, the more painful it gets for many Batavia residents to see the price of a tank of gas.

Prices in Illinois continue to skyrocket, with the average price for gas being $5.53 per gallon as of Wednesday, according to AAA. That's 40 cents more expensive than a week ago and about $1 — 94 cents, to be exact — more than a month ago.

At around $5.78 per gallon in Kane County, gas prices were significantly above the state average.

Nationally Wednesday, the average was still under $5 at about $4.96 per gallon.

According to GasBuddy, the cheapest gas in Batavia is selling for $5.54 per gallon at Walmart, 885 N. Randall Road. Here is what other stations around town are charging:

  • Feece Oil Co. at 1700 Hubbard Ave.; $5.74 per gallon
  • Mobil at 27 N. Batavia Ave.; $5.79 per gallon
  • BP at 200 N. Randall Road; $5.89 per gallon
  • Mobil at 2074 Main St.; $5.89 per gallon
  • Speedway at 1495 E. Wilson Ave.; $5.89 per gallon
