Conspirator in Lincoln's assassination comes alive!

Step back in time as storyteller Lynn Rymarz tells the story of Mary Surratt, convicted and hanged as one of the conspirators in Abraham Lincoln’s assassination. Surratt’s story—her life as a loving mother, a grieving widow, and a landlord—is recounted. Listen to the events that led up to Lincoln’s assassination, Surratt’s arrest, and her own testimony at the military trial. Hear the verdict, and how Surratt proclaimed her innocence until she was executed. This One Book, One Batavia event will be presented at 2 p.m., Sunday, March 8.
