Green Event Unveils New Name and Logo

Green Fair on the Fox

 Batavia, IL, June 1, 2014:  The Batavia Green Walk is now Green Fair on the Fox!  After much deliberation, the organizers decided to change the name of the event to Green Fair on the Fox.  “The planning committee discovered many area residents thought that the event was a walkathon or running event and not a Green Fair so we decided a name change would better capture the nature of the event” says event Co-Chair Carolyn Burnham.  This year’s event will take place on August 9 from 9am-3pm, at the Batavia RiverWalk.

 The Green Fair on the Fox committee wanted to keep the design local so they invited Waubonsee Community College Graphic Design class, taught by local graphic designer Lisa Youngdahl, to create a logo for the Green Fair on the Fox.  Bryan Haake a freshman from Geneva, created the winning design.  Haake states “I wanted to incorporate the windmill as not only a representation of Batavia, but also to represent an abundance source of energy that would better the environment.”

 “The 2014 Green Fair on the Fox will be bigger and better than ever in 2014” says event Co-Chair Keith Line.  “It will feature an eco-marketplace, an Alternative Transportation Show where area residents can bring their green car, bike or other transportation to the RiverWalk, park it and show it off.  Residents can also take part in Fox Valley’s Largest Zumba Class presented by the Batavia Park District. Fox Valley residents will also enjoy a bicycle polo exhibition, food, live music, demonstrations, fun activities and more!”
