Vandals have taken aim at a Christian grotto located on the grounds of the Kane County Government Center in Geneva.

The grotto was built on the original grounds of the Sacred Heart Seminary, which was a training location for priests back in the day, and was damaged at some point between Oct. 11 and Oct. 18 when white paint was splattered on the floor, walls, steps and altar, according to the Daily Herald.

The grotto is located off a path on the southern edge of the grounds of the government center, 719 S. Batavia Ave. in Geneva, the newspaper reports.
