Join The Batavia City-Wide Garage Sale, May 4-5

This year, sellers from OUTSIDE Batavia can join the event. We'll tell you how.

Are you ready for big bargains in Batavia? Then make sure you're in town on May 4 and 5.

That's when the 19th Annual Batavia City-Wide garage sale kicks off. The event features tons of clothing, furniture and home decor items galore being sold all over the city. It goes from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the first Friday and Saturday in May.

What makes the city-wide sale different? Lots of publicity. If you register your garage sale at bataviafireworks.org, or at Batavia City Hall:

  • Your sale will be identified on a map distributed to thousands of potential shoppers
  • The City-Wide sale will be advertised in newspapers, on radio and on BATV
  • Just like a regular garage sale, you get to keep your profits

Have stuff to sell, but don't live in Batavia? You can still participate. This year the garage sale includes a Flea Market in downtown Batavia. For $20, anyone, including non-residents, can get a 20 ft. by 20 ft. spot near First Street and Shumway Avenue to sell their wares. The Flea Market runs 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 4 only.

The Flea Market option can also be used by Batavia residents who don't have a garage or available sale space, or for anyone that doesn't want to have it on their property, Organizer Vicki Mitchell said.

As always, is for a great local cause. Registration fees go towards the cost of putting together the annual .
