Kane County Forest Preserves To Host Fox River Clean-Up
Kane County residents will have the chance to help clean up the Fox River at two locations — Batavia and South Elgin — in September.
BATAVIA, IL — Kane County residents will have two opportunities to help clean up the Fox River in September.
The Forest Preserve District of Kane County and Friends of the Fox River will host a clean-up effort at two locations Sept. 17: Glenwood Park Forest Preserve, at 1644 S. River St. in Batavia, and Jon J. Duerr Forest Preserve, at 35W003 Route 31 in South Elgin. The event will take place from 9 a.m. to noon at both locations.
"Help beautify our river, its banks and nearby trails while enjoying camaraderie, environmental education exhibits and more," organizers said of the event.

Organizers will provide helpers with drinking water, snacks, disposable gloves and trash bags.
