Lady Eagles Return to State
Immanuel Batavia's girls varsity basketball returns to Lutheran State Basketball Tournament competition for the seventh straight year.

For the seventh consecutive season, the second longest active consecutive streak in the State of Illinois, the Immanuel Lutheran School Lady Eagles will compete in the Illinois Lutheran State Basketball Championship Tournament Mar. 3-5, 2017, which is open to all Lutheran middle schools in Illinois, based on season records, conference and tournament championships, head-to-head competition, overall strength of schedule, and play-in games.
The Lady Eagles enter the State Tournament with an overall record of 17-6, and champions of both the DuPage County Lutheran Athletic Conference and their own Eagle Invitational Tournament. A recent strong second place finish in the always highly competitive thirty-ninth annual Zion Marengo Tournament also served as a nice marker in the team’s overall season resume. The Lady Eagles will play their first game at State on Fri., Mar. 3, against St. Paul Lutheran School, Rochelle. The game will be played at 2:30 PM at St. Peter Lutheran School in Arlington Heights.
The 2016 2017 Lady Eagles varsity team members are: Alexia Jones, Isabella Landrum, Macie Rummel, Molly Venhuizen, Amanda Wittersheim, Caroline Hager, Grace Linden, Katie Meyers, Jacque Schroeder, Kelly Wenzel and Natalie Zagorski. They are coached by Steve Mudd, Sharon Dalpini, and Judy Luetkens. (Photo credit: Kristy Joanis Photography)
